MOBIS Camera monitor system

Mirrorless Car – car without side mirror will be released soon.

On 21th July, Hyundai MOBIS announced that they developed CMS(Camera Monitor System). 2 high performance camera sensors are installed instead of 2 side mirrors. These sensors sense driving way and show to the monitor for passenger. It helps preventing accidents due to blind spots during driving.

The camera sensor shows 35 degrees of view which is more than double of side mirror’s. It means a driver doesn’t have to turn his head to check behind view. Without side mirrors, a driver can park a car easier.  And the fuel efficiency is improved because the air resistance is decreased. 

BMW and VW already released their new model which has no side mirror in the several motor shows. CMS are sold in public in Germany and Japan. Soon CMS will be sold in Korea too because of MOBIS.
