I took more closer photos.
ThreeBond
1217H (I think it’s model #)
Silicone-based, Non-solvent, Gray color
Net weight is 80g
LOT number is B19L02
You can see the company name ” ThreeBond Fine Chemical Co., Ltd.”
So now you know even Chemical manufacturer is supplying to MOBIS….
Actually I think it’s not exactly Gasket, it look likes just a glue.
Someone used this liquid gasket, please share your review about it.
Thank you for visiting Koreapartsinfo.com
I will keep posting about Korea auto parts detail 😀 for sharing with everyone.
I haven’t used that particular 1217H but I’ve used several ThreeBond brand high heat silicone gaskets when I used to work as a mechanic for a carbon fiber factory until COVID-19 shut our plant down.??
Some were used with a rope gasket, like the kind used around a door for a fireplace to keep the smoke/gas in. They performed very well.
“Liquid type gaskets” are used as it states in the tube itself for sealing oil pan, timing belt/chain cover, water pump cover (without o-ring type), etc.
You may already knew, but it can not be used for sealing head to engine block as traditional “engine gasket” as pictured above.
Do we have “Dow” or “Loctite” plant in Korea?
They make same product for the application.
Hyundai should consider buying from them.?
Thank you for your comment. I see. I google Dow and Loctite in Korean web and I found that there are Dow Korea and Korea Loctite. Weird why they import this item from Japan still. By the way thank you for sharing this information.
Thank you for your comment! Very useful information. What a shame that I found your reply just now. Sorry!
