Convert carbon dioxide and use it as a chemical raw material… Completion of the world’s largest plant
While countries are striving to realize carbon neutrality amid the climate crisis, a domestic research team has succeeded in demonstrating technology that converts carbon dioxide into synthetic gas, a raw material for petrochemicals. The world’s largest carbon dioxide-using dry reforming plant was built in the Ulsan Industrial Complex. Dry reforming technology is a technology that produces syngas by reacting carbon dioxide and methane.
Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology’s CO2 Energy Research Center senior researcher Jang Tae-seon’s research team developed a demonstration catalyst and process technology that can produce synthetic gas (hydrogen, carbon monoxide), a petrochemical compound, from carbon dioxide. Buheung Industrial Co., Ltd., which received this technology, built a dry reforming plant and held a completion ceremony for the ‘Dry Reforming Plant Using CO2’ at 2:00 pm on the 5th at Buheung Industrial Co.’s Ulsan plant.

“All tire companies closed down because of Hyundai Motor Company”… Development of tires that can be transformed as desired
According to Carverz, a foreign press in May, Hyundai and Kia discovered a patent that can automatically change the shape of a tire when trying to park in a narrow space.
According to Carverz’s report, depending on the situation, the shape-shifting wheel automatically narrows, causing the tire to protrude round the outer surface of the wheel and beyond the rim.
Large SUVs such as the Palisade and the Genesis GV80 are obscured from view, resulting in blind spots, large wheels, and often contact with curbs while driving. However, the shape-shifting wheel is expected to help mitigate wheel damage when parking.

POSCO International to supply over 6.5 mln motor cores to Hyundai Motor
POSCO International Corp. said Thursday it has clinched an additional contract with Hyundai Motor Co. to supply 2.5 million units of a key auto component for electric vehicles (EVs), raising the total orders from Hyundai to 6.85 million.

Samsung, SK, LG team up with Hyundai Motor to create EV alliance
The Samsung, SK and LG business conglomerates are teaming up with Hyundai Motor Group to create an electric vehicle (EV) alliance, according to industry officials, Monday. The alliance envisions Samsung’s autonomous-driving semiconductors and SK’s batteries being installed in EVs made by Hyundai and Kia, while LG’s organic light-emitting diode (OLED) instrument panels guide drivers.
